A temperature in the range from 30°C to 40°C is to be recorded using a recorder that accepts a full-scale voltage of 100 mV. The probe chosen is based on linearized thermistors for which manufacturer’s data show the following in the range from —5°C to +45°C: They have a linear behavior when connected as voltage divider, described by V0 = (—0.0056846T + 0.805858)E (Tin degrees Celsius), and R1 = 570011 and R2 = 12,00011. In order to have a zero output at 30°C and 100 mV at 40°C, the probe is placed in a bridge as shown in Figure P2.1.
a. If the recorder is considered to be ideal, what condition must be met by R3 and R4?
b. If the input impedance of the recorder is finite, what additional condition must R1 and R4 meet?
