now usually I do it from the top down like I said before but I'm this particular vehicle because the fuel pump relay is not serviceable so it's part of the circuit board on the central junction box so where's the bypass all this go down to the back of the vehicle about the spare tire and that's where the fuel pump driver module is that known.
we all know that these Rod out and cause fuses to blow and then of course no fuel pressure and they even sat flights depending on how it blows a fuse what's a particular case the fuel pump driver module has been changed out and the fuses are all our place already so at this point to do some real.
Diagnostics and start checking our powers and grounds in and out of the fuel pump driver module so go back there about the spare tire disconnect it and then we're going to test our power coming into it in the way we need the power to come into it we were going to get this power to come in tool is by having someone crank the engine.

while the vehicle is in park as you can see up here the relays only energized when it's in I was running which I was like I'm not doing obviously I won't start hour while you're cranking it so I'm cranking yet and then we're going to go down here and white wire pin 5 we're going to make sure that has power coming to it and you want to make sure you load test this power coming in.
to make sure I can handle the amperage that require fits fuel pump you work so you want to use a old window motor headlamp something like that and Amber's through here pretty bad test two things at once is jump from here in 5 to pin 3 over here with your load whatever using to load up a circuit and test it and that way we're testing the main power in the main ground coming in to the fuel pump driver module not both of these are coming in or cranking.
the engine is okay at this point it's up to the fuel pump driver module is bad actually sent the power and ground out to the fuel pump itself it's all about pulse-width modulated that's why the Twisted wire pair with shielding and everything else over here because of the electronic fuel electronic returnless fuel system is what it is so it's all false with modified on here modulated glad to get it to that right pressure on there so that at this point it's it's a scan tool that you're grounded next to you start checking the commanded and the monitored percentages on the scan tool to see if the PCM can talk to the fuel pump driver module power and the ground honey into the module are just fine just not getting it out of it and you don't have a scan tool start checking these circumt well what you can do is jump pin 5 to 2 and Pen 3D pen for and what they'll do is give full power and ground to the fuel pump at that point you should have power over here.
and of course the fuel pump will be turning on and you have fuel pressure in a vehicle should start we know that the power coming in and the circuitry coming out and a fuel pump itself are just fine check these on Montour circuits and the Vendetta note that I can give you is that some guys there finding this is this driver module is rotted out so I change it makes you laugh use your okay everything's just fine and the darn thing still doesn't work well they changed it out with the doorman unit and they have these rubber bushings on them that insulated from the frame now that shouldn't matter but it is mattering it is it does matter apparently because I've gotten multiple reports of this.
now I've never experienced that because I've always use the new floor unit the new Ford unit also has s I bet that's a metal bolt and stud design I have an issue with any kind of issue with the fuel pump driver module and I had to go buy one no questions asked I would change it out to a new Ford unit on there and avoid all this hassle you're not getting power over here at all while you went to back-trace it up to the inertia fuel cutoff switch make sure that's not trip just press down the button on top of at the red button and make sure it's not trip in at that point we are over to the see to 270k connector on here it's probably a good side connector about 40 different wires coming off of it that's because he can't test the fuel pump relay like I said is to check our inputs to it and a right here comes from fuse 3420 ampere which is also in that Central junction box and then the BM put right here comes from the PCM power relay.
now PCM power relay was not turning on you have a theft light more likely than not but it is always possible to have you know some kind of a corrosion or Mike damage between this wire in that PCM power relay just for the oh yeah that's about it there's no test on the scan tool the whole lot more and usually the issue is from the inertia fuel cutoff switch on back I'm sure you'll find it somewhere in this area here I don't think I've ever change a fuel pump on an expedition or F150 po304 on they're just they're just not that common words before that they are pretty common a good overview of the circuit and how it works I hope this helps.
